2018 CAL KAL Mish Mash

Jess and I have come up with a crochet/knit along for 2018! Here is the information:

CAL Host: Jessica http://crochetjessica.com and jessika on Ravelry
KAL Host: Hev http://tigerwhispers.com and Hev on ravelry

Hev will be our knitter and Jessica will be our crocheter. Each month 2 patterns will be released – 1 by Hev & 1 by Jessica. We will start off with easy/basic squares as an introduction to to knitting and crocheting. Each month the squares will get harder in skill. we want those not comfortable with knitting and/or crocheting to build up skill as time goes on. We will post links to YouTube or other places if we feel they are needed. If you need help post a comment on that months post. Your email is required to be able to post a comment but that is only to prove you are an actual person — it’s a spam prevention measure. We will NEVER use your email for anything unless we reply to you personally to your comment.

Here is to 2018

Since 2017 was to be quite honest a horrible depressed year for me (i.e. the lack of actual blog posts) I am hoping 2018 will be better. As you have noticed I am trying to do more book reviews & such for 2018. I have a series of things that I want to do this year & so I thought I would try to list them out here.

  • Do at least one book review a week (since I can read 4-5 books a week it shouldn’t be that hard)
  • Complete at least one blog post a month (I am not pushing myself on this)
  • Go to Branson, MO on vacation for 2 nights by myself (hoping for this in Janurary 2018)
  • Finish paying off my credit card
  • With said paid off credit card go to California to visit Jessica at Oceanside for a few days.
  • Start to pay off said credit card once again.
  • Complete the CAL/KAL that Jessica & I are doing this year.
  • Complete a year of knitting & crocheting things for me & not everyone else (i.e. finish my cardigan, make me at least 4 pairs of socks, & finish my Sophie
  • Finally pull myself out of this damn well of depression I have been in for the last year (don’t know how well that is going to go but I am trying)

Yes, that is a lot but I never hold myself religiously to any of these so most if not some should be completed this year. Dad & I have worked out a new rent plan & money budget that should let me have a bit more money from my disability & that way I won’t have to rely on my credit card so much.

So that is what 2018 is going to look like for me. Wish me luck.

TW is Back!

I re-worked the code, got a finished objects gallery of my knitting projects, got instagram up & posting. So I think I am ready to go. I know I neglect this blog quite a bit, but since I do make quite a few posts to instagram, I have set up the site to automatically post a blog post every time I upload a image to instagram. I know some of you may find this irritating, but my site, my choices.

I am still planning on going through my pages & making some changes, but that can be done while the site is live. Have fun looking at my finished projects gallery (took me long enough to figure it out & enough hair pulling).

I have posts in the works, So I haven’t completely forgotten the site. The latest election has sparked quite a few opinions for me to think about & want to share.
