Guess What!

I backup the database. I am a good girl & automatically upgrade the WP. Then after I do that, I go to my FTP to upload new pics & my bloody hand spasms & I accidentally delete my folder that contains my WP stuff. So I thought, ok. No big deal, I just re-install WP (the old one & then update it to the new 3.0). So that is what I did. Did it work? NOPE So now I am sitting here at the library, pissed off, & wanting to scream bloody murder at myself. So now instead of scooting along nice & smooth, I have to re-create my site from the ground up.      So bear with me while I get everything back up & running.

Oh Hev, that’s awful!! Ugh! I haven’t upgraded to 3 yet. I have a copy of my entire site on my hard drive and use MAMP (I have a Mac, but there’s a free Windows version called Xampp http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html) that allows you to basically run and test a local copy of your WordPress site on your hard drive. I usually test plugins and layout changes etc on my local site first before uploading to my main server. Plus you can export a backup from your online server and import to your local one.

Holy crap! That’s really awful!
But if you just deleted your WP folder, shouldn’t you still have your database? Can’t you import its content somehow?
And I’m glad you liked the award! You’re very welcome
I’m very happy to have you in my online world *hugs*
But if you want Zappo you’ll have to fight me for him

That sounds horrible! But if you’ve backed up the database, why don’t you just go restore it in phpMyAdmin and have all your posts and content back?
