Commission Projects

I complete cross stitch designs on commission for people that either don’t know how to cross stitch, don’t have the time, or don’t want to take the time to do it. In other words, you want something done in counted cross stitch then I am the woman to talk to. I do my best to get the commission done in a reasonable amount of time. I also do my best to get the work done at the cheapest possible rate. Interested? Then let me tell you how I handle commission work.

  1. You find a design that you would like to have completed. You email me the name & designer of the pattern. Do not buy the pattern, kit, etc. Sometimes I can get the design or I may even have it already.
  2. I see how much the pattern will cost & how much it will cost to make. Then I will email you back with an estimate of the cost.
  3. You will be asked to sign a Stitcher’s Agreement contract (see here) and either fax or email it back to me.
  4. I do charge $0.01 to $0.02 per stitch or $2.00 per hour that depends on the complexity of the design & the specialty stitches used.
    • Things that affect the cost:
      • Number of stitches (not to be confused with stitch count)
      • Number of Embellishments (compared to number of stitches)
      • Number of colors (compared to number of stitches)
      • Frequency of color changes
      • Fabrics with higher thread counts
      • Unusual or difficult fabric
      • Unusual or difficult stitches
      • Pattern that is difficult to read
      • Pattern that is hand written (usually a Designer Project)
  5. Once you agree to the project then I will ask for a deposit down on the project so that I will be able to purchase the supplies needed. Usually this is just the cost of the pattern & floss. I will send you an invoice showing the money received. There is no exceptions on this.
  6. That is it. All that is left is for me to stitch my fingers off & finish the project.
  7. Once I have completed the design I will email you again & ask if you want me to have it framed (at additional cost) or if you want to frame it yourself.
  8. If you choose to frame it yourself then I will get the shipping costs & send you the final invoice. As soon as I receive the final payment I will mail your design to you. I will send the design insured & ask that you email me telling me when you receive it.
  9. If you ask me to frame the project then I will need the following:
    • Color of Frame (ie: wood-light or dark, metal, plastic)
    • Color of Mat
    • Type of Mat (Acid Free or Not Acid Free)
    • Glass or Plexi-Glass (I am not responsible for breakage if you choose glass)
  10. Once I have the framing done then I will get the shipping costs & send you the final invoice. As soon as I receive the final payment I will mail your design to you. I will send the design insured & ask that you email me telling me when you receive it.

Of course, during the entire stitching process I will send pictures of the design to you & post them online here in the galleries.
