To-Do List

I just looked at my To-Do list & I am just about overwhelmed with it all, lol. For all pattern links you will need to be logged into Ravelry.

  • Wesley’s Overalls – 80% finished – pattern
  • Wesley’s Cardigan – going on the back burner & then knit at a larger size – pattern
  • Jerratt’s Baby Blanket – got the yarn & I think I am going to make this: – pattern
  • Emily’s Wedding gift – has to be done by October
  • My Shawl – waiting on the yarn – pattern
  • Doe Eye – shawl that will be for sale – pattern
  • Mittens – for me, but I haven’t settled on a pattern yet that I want to make. Well, I have, but don’t think I am skilled enough to make it.

This is only the craft to-do list. The other list has about thirty items on it to be done. I never catch up at all, lol. But if I ever did then I don’t think I would know what to do with myself. But I thought I would let you all know where everything is & why I am not a huge presence online. I am always there, just may not be twittering or commenting.

Knitting, Crochet, & Cross Stitch Rut

I am in a huge size rut of my own making. I need to finish Frederick, but my Cross Stitch bag has a huge (about ten inches) rip in it that swallows my stitching. Well, I have the choice of spending at least $20 on a new diaper bag (that is what I normally use) or make me one. I decided to make one with cotton yarn, plastic canvas, & fabric. Well, I have most of the granny squares completed, then I get to sew them together. Then block them & then cut out the 7-mesh plastic canvas to stiffen the bag & then sew the lining & put it all together. My rut is simple. I also want to knit socks & just realized that it is the same stitch, just with more needles. I am like a kid in a candy store when I find something new out. I want to try it & a new craft is like candy to me. It is the same with Tunisian Crochet, I had to try it out. I now can do it & am still on the fence about it. As for the knitting socks, I have requested books & am planning on picking up sock yarn & double pointed needles this weekend. Hopefully that will calm my brain down enough to get my new xstitch1 bag completed. At least, I hope it will be enough. Also there is a pattern for fingerless gloves that I am dying to do that requires sock weight yarn so I will pick that up to. I foresee a break in my xstitching once Fredrick is completed, unless I get another commission. Though Callie wants me to crochet her a scarf so I may do that once Frederick is done. I am using my giant crochet shopping bag at the moment to hold my crochet & xstitching until I get the bag done & am honestly temped to just use it for the time being until I get Frederick done. It just doesn’t have a top & is unlined. But I have used it all day & nothing has come out yet, but it is soooo big & is meant as a shopping bag. Picture 100% cotton yarn in a size H crochet hook, 14 round granny square front & back with 7 round square sides & bottom. That is how big my bag is at the moment. HUGE  Replacing my cross stitching bag is my rut & I plan on finishing my homemade one soon.

1 xstitch means cross stitch

This Summer

I plan on using my “sense of touch” to the extreme level, lol.  I just re-learned how to knit so I am still working on that (remembering why I hate it). Plus I have about two crochet projects going on that I want to complete. Then my biggest project is of course Frederick. I am guessing by now you want to know how this deals with my sense of touch. Simple, did you know that different colors will feel different? :OO: They do. *stop looking at me like I am crazy* I can take a skein of white floss & a skein of another color and tell them apart by the feel of the floss. I may not be able to tell you what color it is, but I will be able to tell you that they are not the same color. Try it. Go on, try it, I will wait.

You back? Good. Did you feel it? Yes, good. You have a heighten sense of touch, not everyone does. That is why if you didn’t feel it you have a normal sense of touch. Nothing wrong with that. I can do the same thing with fabric & yarn. Which is why I can’t use wool, it irritates me, I don’t like the feel of the wool. Though I may branch into Alpaca (my father has a client that raises them). That is why I love working with cotton so much. I love the feel of the yarn & it doesn’t irritate my senses.

For example, micro suede. My father has about four winter shirts that he wears. Every time he wore them he couldn’t figure out why I kept rubbing his back or hugging him. Finally, Mom told him it was because I loved the feel of the fabric. When I was in the hospital he brought one up for me to sleep with since it smelled like home & I could rub my face in it. *huge anxiety & panic attacks in the hospital* Since then, I have have bought a comforter that is micro-suede & I sleep with it all the time. My parents joke that I am like a feline & purr. :yikes: Kind of like this cat in the basket:

Yeah, if you haven’t guessed, I am in a crazy goofy mood today.

Whew! Slow Down Life

Everything is moving so fast. I don’t know how to keep up. Dad & I are getting used to being without Mom *hate it*. The worst part is that we are both the type of person that “goes with the flow” & so choosing where to go or where to eat is difficult because both of don’t really care. Needless to say it can take us all day to choose something, lol. The main thing we both agree on is Mom.

Mother Update

Mom is still in the hospital. The doctor’s still give her less then 10% chance of making it out alive. If she makes it then it will be to a long term skilled care facility. That was not what we (Dad & I) or mom wanted, but if she is willing to do it then I am not going to complain.

She actually seems to be willing to work with physical therapy this time around & she is telling us (mouthing since she doesn’t have the speech valve on the trach tube yet) that she is hungry & wants to drink. So that is wonderful. Yesterday she actually agreed to let them sit her up on the side of the bed. She only sat for a couple of minutes, but she sat up & wasn’t bitchy or fighting with them to do it. This is a wonderful thing.

Though I hate to be pessimistic, I am so afraid that this is just the calm before the storm. I just have this feeling that she is going to move backwards again & if she does move backwards she will give up completely. If she codes out again, the doctors don’t think she will come out of it again. Her heart already has a flutter in it & her lungs & brain already have been damaged. Unfortunately, we don’t know how badly they have been damaged. I am just terrified that my best friend is going to die on me & there is nothing I can do to stop it. I am just taking everything one day at a time & praying that I get to keep her for a little longer. I don’t know what else to do.

I am planning on making hats for myself & possibly to sell, though I doubt if any will get sold cause I will probably give them away, lol. I bought the yarn just because I loved the colors in it. I had no idea what to use it for until I saw the hat on Raverly. Then I knew what it was going to be used for.

If you remember I was going to make a quilt for my double bed out of the colors of Water & Earth. Well, I got four blocks down & just can’t tell myself that the colors go together so I am using the yarn for other small projects.

My Dad bought me two new crochet hooks. They are normal metal hooks from the flat up & bamboo below. Since the bamboo is a thicker handle it doesn’t make my hand cramp when I crochet all day. So far I have a G (4.0mm) & a H (5.0mm). Dad says that as I need other sizes he will get them. These are made by Susan Bates. The only two brands I have access to are Broyle & Susan Bates. I can interchange the use of either brand, though I prefer Susan Bates. I love the thicker handle of my new hooks. :luv: :luv: :luv:

Cross Stitch

I have finally gotten started on Lori’s commission. Frederick has his own place in the galleries now so you can visit him there, lol. I am going to have a hard time letting this one go, I know. Want to know why? This is the design.Clicking on the picture will take you to the gallery page.

Crochet, Cross Stitch, & Misc.

Ok, this post is picture intense so it may load a little slow. I have finished & started new projects on both crocheting & cross stitching, so it is picture time.

Pulled Taffy Hat & Scarf

I had planned to make this set for myself, but when I got the scarf finished it was too narrow for me. I like my scarves to be very wide so they can act like hoods in the cold. So I decided to go ahead and make the hat & then sell them. I haven’t got the selling page up yet, but I thought I would go ahead & show you the pictures of them.

Project Linus

My mother crochets a lot. She makes me look very bad with my crocheting. She is also quite quick with hers. The only thing is that she likes to crochet for charity. Well, the charity that she was making baby blankets for wasn’t working out, so I launched myself into the charity world to find Mom a new baby blanket charity for her. I came across Project Linus & hit jackpot. Here is the mission statement of Project Linus:

Project Linus is comprised of hundreds of local chapters and thousands of volunteers across the United States. Each volunteer and local chapter all work together to help us achieve our mission which is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.”

So I talked to Mom & now we are “Blanketeers”. There is a local chapter in Springfield which is only about 45 minutes away & since we go to Springfield all the time we can just drop off our blankets & away we go. I normally do not make big projects in crochet cause I get bored with it very fast. But while I was making the Pulled Taffy hat & scarf, I actually bought a pamphlet afghan book. I am crazy cause I only like making bags & other quick items in crochet. But I fell in love with the afghans in the book & decided to actually bought the yarn to make a baby blanket using one of the patterns in the book. Did I mention that it is also a Granny Square? No, well it is & Granny Squares go really really fast for me, so I am actually managing to stick with this blanket. I choose horrible colors (to me, I hate these colors together), but supposedly babies see these three colors the best. I am also using an “x” stitch so the blanket has some texture to it which the baby should love to feel & play with. So here are the pictures of the blanket.

Black, white, & red. Blegh, I hate those colors together. I don’t mind them so much separately but together they don’t work for me. These pictures are actually about three days old. I have actually started on the second round of the pattern color. So instead of just white, red, white, & black. I am actually to white, red, white, black, white, & red. The only thing that Project Linus says is that the blankets need to be 30 inches big & not to many big holes. Well, one pattern round (white, red, white, black) equals a little over 10 inches, so I only have two more pattern rounds to go.

Ink Circles – By the Full Moon

I have finally finished the stitching on this piece. I didn’t think I was ever going to finish it, lol. The trees were a challenge for me. I had to re-do the right one several times cause I kept trying to make the same branch several times, lol.

Now all I need to do is drag out my purple felt, & the orange ribbon, sew it all together & then hang it. Poof! it is done, lol. If only it was that simple.

Stash Explosion

1-2-3 Stitch recently had a 20% off sale on Ink Circle designs. Since Tracy was so nice to tweet about it, I just had to go check it out. Well, I manage to walk away with only four charts. Three Ink Circles & a Dimensions Gold Petites that I had been looking at for about a year. I am quite proud of myself. There were 20 charts in my basket & I weeded them down to four. So I feel like I did a really good job of it. Though my wallet doesn’t agree. Wanna see what I got? Sure you do.

Shy Violet - New Design - Don't know why I got this one, but I do like it. Masquerade - The big brother to By the Full Moon that I just finished. Now just to buy the frame. Just Rosey - Reminds me of the series she did in my magazines, so I just had to have it.

Now I just have to keep my wallet closed until we go on vacation so I can go a little crazy at Silver Needle in Tulsa, OK when we go on vacation in April or May. Though I honestly don’t need anymore charts. I really need to stock up on fabric & floss, but I usually don’t do that until I am ready to start stitching. *sigh* I guess we will have to wait & see what happens on vacation.

Disability Proceedings

Well, I was denied my first go around, so my lawyers & I are preparing for the second go around. But I am honestly wondering if it isn’t all a big pile of bullsh** & my lawyers are just leading me on. But Dad says that we aren’t losing any money so it isn’t hurting us. Though I think it would greatly help my case if I had a seizure in the midst of my hearing. Though I think it needs to be a severe one where I throw things & hit people. *yep, I have those kind still.* If I was lucky, or unlucky, I would throw a pen at the judge & miss. Though then we probably wind up in jail or the hospital. Either one would be horrid cause of the strobe lights, lol. But mom says we can’t do that. Though if SSN sends me to another bloody psychiatrist or psychologist I may throw a bloody hissy fit at them. I don’t talk about myself to strangers, much less with ones that like to play mind games. If I have a problem then I talk to my parents, if that doesn’t help then I go & tell it to my babies, then forget about it. Problem solved. If I can’t change it then there is no reason for me to stress about it.

New Theme?

If you follow me on Twitter then you have probably read that I am wanting a new theme. So yeah, I am working on a new one, but I wouldn’t be in a rush to see it. It is going to be quite plain, fluid, one-column. At least, so far it is. Though you never know what I will actually come up with. :p

Well, I believe that is all for now. Though I will probably have more pictures soon. So until then, BYE!

Owl Order Form

Well, if you will go & look on the “For Sale” you will notice that I actually have something for sale, lol. I know it isn’t already made, but that Owl is too cute for me to wait on. So I have a created a Made-To-Order section of the little things that I find that shouldn’t take to long to make. As of this moment, the only thing there is the Owl MP3 holder, but I will have more soon.

I have also updated the galleries. *note to self: find buttons that say “updated”* But this time I am giving you some here. But otherwise you have to go check the galleries of:

  • Ink Circles: By The Full Moon
  • Jungle Scamp’s Floss Toss with correct fabric
  • UMW Keychains – Cross Stitching completed

Other Happy News

Azure, my new babyMy mother & father gave me my Christmas present early. About a month ago my camera somehow managed to get its LCD screen cracked. I have no clue how & so I have been lugging father’s huge digital camera around. I knew I wanted something with a hight pixel amount then my previous one of 6.4 megapixels, but most of them were in the $150 range & I didn’t have that. But yesterday, my mom came across the Kodak (same brand as my last one) Easyshare C195. I don’t know how much it was. *If I know or guess then I don’t get to keep the camera, family rule* She picked one up in blue for me. Azure is what I named her. She has 14 mega pixels & boy is it nice. She zooms up to 5 times, which I rarely ever need, cause if I need the zoom function I am going to use Dad’s which is a 10 time zoom. My only problem is that she is so small. But I am so grateful to have new camera that I don’t care. I have the best parents. :luv: :luv:

New Theme, New Pages

Well, as you can tell there is a new theme. I really like the style of this one, so it might actually last a while also. I know I said I had one coded & I do, but I haven’t felt up to turning the HTML over to WP code. So until I feel up to that it isn’t going to happen. But this one is nice and calming. Nothing too flashy & I don’t have to come up with any graphic work.

Oh, you want to know what I have been doing for the past few weeks or months? Well, we (my parents & I) are clearing my room, it has been used for storage for the last five years, at their house. I am going to have to move back home for the safety of my health. I have been falling too much & my pain is getting to the point where I am unable to make it over to my house. For the last two months I have only been managing one night a week at my house & the rest at my parents. So we have been cleaning.

Online I have gotten sucked into my Neopets again. Not that I have ever really left them, but I have gotten to where I am enjoying it more then I used to. So I have actually been creating graphics & coding for my pets there. No, I don’t care if you dislike Neopets. I enjoy it.

As for my stitching, I have uploaded new pictures to the UMW Keychains (if you are interested), created two new pages for my two new Halloween projects. *click on the “Hallo” for one & “ween” for the other*

Isn’t this just the cutest thing ever? It is actually a MP3 holder for the Ipods. I am going to make it with tans instead of yellows. Then I think I may make another one for a certain owl liker that I know in blues. But then she never visits or makes comments so she may not want one. *wonders if she will figure out to come here* I have the fabric & the felt. Just have to pick up the floss in four shades & find buttons for the eyes. That shouldn’t be too hard. Might get to play 50,000 button pick up again. I inherited Grandmother’s button jars & there are tons of buttons in it. Who knows I may enjoy it so much I may stitch three, lol. Since I have a portable sewing machine that can handle light weight work, more things are open for me to do. Geesh, I sound like an excited school girl.

I have been sucked also into that beautiful world of music. So far my ears have been dancing to Lady Gaga & Enrique Iglesias. So I have been dancing in my chair at Mom’s office & at Dad’s office. Since I have finally gotten Mom & Dad to use GTalk we can actually talk to each other without having to use the bloody phones & money. So I get to keep my music on all the time without worrying that I will miss a call. I love it. Though I am sure that those following my isn’t cause I tend to listen to the same few songs over & over.

Stitching & Christmas

Oh my goodness, I have been stitching my hands off these past months. That is why I haven’t been posting as normally. What is really bad is that it is just the UMW Keyrings that I have been stitching, so there really isn’t any new photos to show you. I have six of the fifteen needed done. I still have to finish Lori’s & Kris’ Christmas presents, finish making the fifteen keychains into keychains, mail Lori’s Christmas present *may be late*, & finally then & only then do I get to take a breather & finish my own Halloween treat. I am honestly wore out.

But I am getting my Christmas wishlist ready. Though I honestly don’t expect to get anything this year. We haven’t had a wonderful year. But I do know what I want & even though I post my wishlist does not mean I want any of you to buy me anything. Understand!!!! I have more fun giving presents then getting them. :p

New Pictures & Heat Wave

I have added a new page to the Galleries. UMW Key Chains have been added. My mother’s Christmas present to the United Methodist Women group of her Church. I have also added about four more picture to Michelle’s Christmas Present, but to access that page you will have to have the password. Just make a comment & will email you the password to the page.

In other things, Missouri is going through a heatwave. We have been having temps in the high 90s but it actually feels like it is in the 100s. Well, it wouldn’t be too horrible if we actually had air conditioning in the houses & at Dad’s office, but Father gives us the choice of living the lifestyle that we are accustomed to or we can have air conditioning. For example, we, the family (3 of us), like to eat out a lot & go to the local big city (Springfield) to shop once or twice a week. Well, we would have to give that up if we get air conditioning. The electric bill would be way to high for the family to afford it. But on the good side, Father says that he has had enough & that he is going to put it at the office. With the heat as high as it is the house temp is in the low 90s which is too hot for mom & me to stay home. So we go to the local library in Republic most days to stay in the cool. The joy of that for me is that I have access to high speed internet on most days. The down side is with the heat so high I don’t have any days to stay home & rest. So I am so exhausted that I can’t even see straight. Usually, I stay at home on Fridays while my parents go shopping & I spend the day cross stitching, reading, & sleeping. Fridays are my days of relaxing & getting my energy back from the previous week. But for the last four weeks I haven’t been able to sleep in or stay home on Fridays & it is beginning to show. I am in so much pain & I am having so many seizures (or fits as my father puts it) that my mother is seriously considering taking me to the hospital the next time i have one in public. So here is to hoping that I don’t have one in public again.

New Pages

I have finally gotten Mimi’s present page uploaded. But I haven’t really gotten started on it with my other two commission pieces that I picked up. But it is there & ready for me to upload pics too. I also loaded the other commission page called Cat’s In Charge Here which is for my mother’s friend Kris. Then as soon as I get that completed & in between Michelle’s & Mimi’s present I get to make about 15 UMW (United Methodist Women) keychains for my mother for Christmas. So much for adding two more Christmas presents to my stitching list. I doubt if I am going to have time with needing to get Jungle Scamp finished also. But that is my life of stitching.

I am also trying to come to terms with my love of this pre-made theme & the one that I have been working on for the last three weeks. I really like it, but at the same time I really love this one. I have most of the quirks worked out of this one & it isn’t that bad to look at. But it isn’t mine. Plus it isn’t as if I have all the time in the world to make new themes all the time. I just don’t know what to do. I tell myself that it isn’t wrong for me to have a premade theme up here, but I guilts me that I know how to design my own themes yet, here I am using someone else’s theme. Oh well, I don’t know what I will do.

Happy Dance

Britty Kitty - Kitty With Butterfly

*Excuse the hoop lines, I haven’t had a chance to wash & iron the poor thing yet.

Yep, this is the completed Britty Kitty design that Ashley asked for. Now all I need to do is wash & iron it to get the hoop lines out of the fabric. Then finish the letter & package it up for her. Though I honestly hate to see this one go. I love Britty Kitty so much, but Ashley asked for it & I know that she will take beautiful care of it.

Ashley's Commission

Britty Kitty - Kitty with ButterflyAshley decided that she wanted this little design stitched for her. So being the friend that I am I told her that I would be delighted to stitch it for her. Provided that I am not going to have the debacle that I had with Melly & Cristina. But that is a completely different thing. So I went & picked up the fabric on Wednesday & I have been stitching on it since then. You can see my efforts on the gallery page here.

Thanks to Incoherent Scribblings for the picture of the completed design. Renee does beautiful work & is always willing to help me get through my mess ups.

The only problem is that I love Britty Kitty designs. I honestly want every single one of them. They are on my wish list & these are my first charts that I have gotten of Britty Kitties. Actually this is the first Britty Kitty that I have every gotten to stitch. I am really having a hard time knowing that I am going to have to give this one up, lol. But I will, I know that Ashley will give it a good home. Plus, I bought enough floss to make me another one. Mom is afraid that I am going to go on a Britty Kitty craze. But I think they are cute enough.

Michelle & Mimi Presents

Well, I learned how to password a page, so I have added the new photos to Michelle’s 2010 Christmas Present. So now there is about 24 in there, but you have to know the password. If you want it, then comment here & as long as I don’t think you will give Michelle the password then I will give you the password. I will be doing the same thing for Mimi’s page when I start her present also. Though keeping it from Mimi is going to be harder then Michelle. For all I know Mimi is going to try stalking me around Springfield when I start working on it, lol.

OMG! Stash Alert

Well, you all know that I went on vacation. While I was there, my parents were sweet enough to take me to a wonderful cross stitching shop. The shop is in Blue Springs & it is called CC & Company. It is wonderful, the ladies that I dealt with were so sweet & nice. I got a ton of new charts that I just can’t wait to start. Though I am going to have to put a stop to my chart buying soon. I am getting too many. Wanna see? I haven’t even gotten these up dated on the “Owned Chart” page yet. But after getting my pages & site back up I gotta have some fun. So I thought that since I got the site up I would share my stash with you. I know that some of you don’t care, but that is the joy of this being my own site. I get to blog about whatever I want, hee hee. You all know I adore you.

SQUEAL! I finally got some Britty Kitty :luv: . Anyone that is on the LJ Community knows how much I have wanted these charts. Unfortunately, Cecilia’s Samplers doesn’t carry the charts. But CC & Company did. I am one of those stitches that want to see a new designer *new to them* charts before they buy them. When I saw them I fell head over heels & bought every one they had. My father found Spiritdancer for my mother & so that was bought for her along with Sitting Pretty. She saw Sitting Pretty in Tulsa but refused to pay the $20 for the chart. I honestly don’t know why she agreed to that price this time, lol. I am hoping that it is because that since I have been doing this for over two years now that I have shown that I have shown my hobby of choice. Fright Club & Dream Banner were my choices. My mother hates Fright Club but I saw it completed on the LJ Community & loved it. Halloween is my favorite holiday other then St. Patrick’s day. I don’t have all the Double Flips for the Dream banner, but I know that Cecilia’s Samplers will either have them or can get them for me. I just have to wait until I get some more money.

Overall, I spent almost $200 just in charts there. I even didn’t pick up ones that I wanted. There were some Kustom Krafts ones there that I was dying for, but I knew I could get them online so I didn’t pick them up. I will never have enough money for all the charts that I want & I am well aware of that. But I am seriously going to have to stop buying the charts & buckle down & work on the ones I have.

On that note, updates to this site are going to slow down quite a bit & my online life is going to slow down. I am going to have Dad kill the internet at home so I don’t have it to distract me. Then I am going to stitch my hands off at home. Maybe that way I can get faster. I am tired of having all these beautiful charts that I want to do then just to get sucked into the Internet. So I am going to kill it at home. Then once I get used to not having it around all the time then maybe I will bring it back. But in the mornings I can get a good three hours of stitching in & then another three hours at night. With six hours I should be able to turn out charts faster then I am now. Here is to hoping. :ohh:
